Mon Saunders

Mon joined RBS in 2020, bringing more than 35 years’ experience across commercial businesses, profit-for-purpose organisations and not-for-profits. She began her career in Sydney working across television production, major international events, digital media and stakeholder engagement. For seven years, Mon produced the Australian Export Awards, gaining a front-row view of some of the country’s most successful businesses and the role strong storytelling and partnerships play in supporting industry.

After returning to South Australia, Mon spent close to 15 years working in and with the state’s leading independent schools. During this time, her connection with rural communities across South Australia and the Northern Territory deepened, alongside a growing focus on philanthropy and community engagement. This experience now underpins her work at RBS, where she leads communications and philanthropic partnerships that help connect rural people with practical support through RBS programs and the RBS Relief Fund.

Mon is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and Educate Plus SA/NT, a member of Philanthropy Australia, and serves on the committee of Rural Media & Communicators SA/NT. She is also a graduate of the National Farmers’ Federation Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program (DiALP), strengthening her advocacy and national networks to help ensure rural voices remain at the centre of the conversations shaping Australia’s future.
