Michelle joined the organisation in 2025, bringing a diverse professional background spanning investment products, regulatory work within a statutory authority, and almost two decades running her own residential construction business. After stepping away from business ownership, Michelle moved into financial counselling within the community services sector, where she found deep purpose in walking alongside people during some of their most challenging times. This blend of commercial, regulatory and community experience underpins the practical, respectful support she now provides to RBS clients.
Based in the Barossa Valley since 2009, Michelle understands the realities of operating a small business while balancing family, wellbeing and financial pressure. Having experienced the demands of business ownership herself, she brings genuine empathy to her work and a strong appreciation for the toll sustained stress can take. Michelle is known for her lateral thinking and client-led approach, firmly believing that clients know their own businesses best. Her role is to help create space for clear thinking, explore options, and support clients to make informed decisions without judgement.
Michelle holds a Certificate III in Financial Services, Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, a Diploma of Financial Counselling, and a Bachelor of Psychological Science. This combination allows her to support clients not only with financial clarity, but with an understanding of the psychological and emotional pressures that often sit alongside business distress.
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys life on her small Barossa property with four sheep, a handful of chickens and her dog, Ruby. She spends her downtime in the veggie patch or travelling with her caravan. A favourite quote she often shares is, “Where the eyes go the car follows,” paired with a reminder to be kind to yourself, especially during hard times.
