Leonie joined RBS in 2024 as Board Secretary, bringing more than two decades of experience in administration, office management, executive support and Board secretariat roles. Her earlier career in banking across both regional and metropolitan branches provided a solid grounding in client service and the financial realities faced by households and small businesses. Having also operated her own fruit and vegetable retail business, she understands firsthand the pressures and competing demands that small business owners manage every day.
Born and raised in South Australia’s far north, Leonie has long-standing ties to regional communities and a natural understanding of the challenges many clients experience. Her work across several not-for-profit organisations supporting people in difficult circumstances has strengthened her capacity to stay calm, organised and responsive when navigating complex information or competing priorities. With a Graduate Diploma of Management and a Certificate of Applied Copyediting and Proofreading, she brings strong organisational, written and verbal communication skills to her role, supporting the Board and Management team in delivering the organisation’s strategic goals.
Outside of work, Leonie leads a busy and active life. She enjoys dragon boating, hiking, pétanque and studying French, and she is closely involved with her family, including four grandchildren and elderly parents. Guided by the belief that “Life is not a rehearsal – this is it, don’t waste it worrying about things you can’t control,” Leonie brings a thoughtful, steady presence to RBS and a genuine commitment to supporting the work that strengthens rural and regional communities.
