Harry joined Rural Business Support as a Programs Support Officer in 2025, bringing more than 20 years of experience across finance, client services and program coordination. His career began in the UK, where he spent five years in finance-related roles, including team leadership and management positions. After returning to Australia, Harry worked for more than 14 years with Bernie Lewis Home Loans, supporting mortgage brokers to deliver strong client outcomes and navigate process improvements and business change. This background gives him a solid grounding in financial systems and client-focused support.
Raised in and around farming communities near Strathalbyn, and now living on his late father’s farm at Willyaroo, Harry has a deep personal connection to rural South Australia. He understands the realities of life on the land—the long hours, uncertainty and emotional strain that can come with seasonal and financial pressures. Having also lived briefly in Alice Springs as a child, with family still in the Northern Territory, he brings an appreciation of the challenges faced by regional and remote communities across both states.
In his role at RBS, Harry is often the first point of contact for clients, providing essential program, process and administrative support that allows counsellors to spend more time working directly with people. Known for his empathy, compassion and attention to detail, he is currently strengthening his formal knowledge by studying small business units within the Financial Counselling framework. Harry is guided by the belief that “our greatest glory is not in never failing but in rising every time we fall,” a perspective that reflects his supportive, people-first approach.
Outside of work, Harry enjoys archery and serves on the committee of his local club. He also spends time renovating an old stone cottage on the farm, staying closely connected to both his community and the land he calls home.
