Freddy Freeman joined Rural Business Support in 2024 as a Landowner Information Service Officer, bringing over 45 years of experience in agriculture and an understanding of the challenges faced by farming families. Having run his own farming business and worked on pastoral country, as well as in supervisory roles within waste companies, Freddy has a well-rounded perspective on regional South Australia and the diverse industries that shape its communities.

A natural people person and excellent communicator, Freddy is passionate about supporting landowners and believes his role helps put them at ease. With firsthand experience of the highs and lows of farming, he understands the importance of having a trusted peer to talk to—someone who truly appreciates the complexities of life on the land.

Freddy is based in Whyalla but remains closely connected to his family farm at Wilmington. Family is at the heart of everything he does, and he is proud to be married with two adult sons. Over the years, Freddy has also been heavily involved in sport, which has helped him build a wide network of connections across South Australia’s regions.

His guiding principles reflect his grounded and compassionate nature: “Respect people as you want them to respect you,” and “Don’t try to live in other people’s shoes as you don’t know their story.”
