The Farm Business Basics Program involves a series of workshops to improve knowledge of farm financial management, as well as building individual capacity and confidence in financial and business skills.

Workshops are conducted by Rural Business Support’s Farm Business Advisor, John Christensen [BCom MScAg CA] who will give advice in relation to accounting, business, management and strategy.

Participants will develop skills to:

  • Improve your knowledge of farm financial management
  • Build individual capacity and confidence in financial and business skills
  • Help to make your farming business more profitable and secure

Regional workshops are held on Eyre Peninsula, in the Mid North, Mallee, Riverland, South East and on Kangaroo Island, accommodating between three and 15 participants per workshop. Each session goes for three hours with morning /afternoon tea provided.

Each workshop session consists of entry level fundamentals using simplified tools and processes – practical and ready to use on farm. Each session is made up of theory, supported by peer and key stakeholder interviews, practical examples and templates, online based decision tools and exercises.

Enrol in three or more sessions for a 25 per cent discount on the total amount. Further discounts may apply if two workshops are held on same day.
