Free workshops to help SA small businesses be prepared for natural disasters

Rural Business Support’s Business Readiness Program is helping small rural and regional South Australian businesses to be better prepared to withstand and survive natural disaster events.

Capping off a series of 39 free workshops in three months across South Australia, a free webinar is being offered at 6pm on Tuesday April 16 to accommodate small business owners who couldn’t get to a venue.

The Business Readiness workshop helps you to:

– Identify your critical business resources, infrastructure and plant/equipment.

– Find out how your business would be impacted by several natural disaster scenarios.

– Plan key actions that can be taken before, during and afterwards to reduce and/or avoid these risks altogether.

– Develop your own Business Readiness Plan that can be saved, shared and regularly updated.

Funded under the Natural Disaster Resilience Program by the South Australian Government and the Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs, the workshops are open to any small regional business with less than 20 employees. You do not have to be in agriculture.

Read below what participants in our pilot workshops had to say:

"Very informative and important for any business to do.” "Made you think about your business’ vulnerabilities and risks.” “Got the brain ticking. Fabulous document to immediately use.” "... covered everything and was for every small business." "... looking to integrate the Business Readiness Plan with our existing plan."
